Teledyne Hastings DV-4R Ruggedized Thermocouple Vacuum Gauge Tube for 0.01 to 20 Torr Range (Stock Number 55-19R)

Teledyne Hastings DV-4R ruggedized thermocouple vacuum gauge tubes have an extra strong housing and can measure pressure between 0.01 and 20 Torr (10 to 20,000 mTorr). Teledyne Hastings DV-4R vacuum sensors are calibrated for nitrogen or air, but conversion factors for other gases are available. The Teledyne Hasting DV-4R tubes are matched and interchangeable without calibration adjustments. The DV-4R thermocouple tubes are for use with Teledyne Hastings Digital or Analog VT-6 thermocouple gauge controllers. These DV-4R tubes have a standard 1/8 inch male NPT vacuum fitting are brand new with full Teledyne Hastings warranty (DV-4R Stock Number 55-19R).

Thermocouple sensors (thermal conductivity gauges) rely on the fact that the ability of a gas to conduct heat decreases with pressure. In this type of gauge, a wire filament is heated by running current through it. A thermocouple or Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) can then be used to measure the temperature of the filament. This temperature is dependent on the rate at which the filament loses heat to the surrounding gas, and therefore on the thermal conductivity. A common variant is the Pirani gauge which uses a single platinum filament as both the heated element and RTD.
