The Shel Lab vacuum oven SVAC2 in this series is built on a compact design, having an internal volume of 1.7 cubic foot (48.2 liters). The Shel Lab SVAC2 operates in the temperature range from room temperature plus 10 degrees to 240 degrees C (up to 460° F) and in the vacuum range from atmosphere to 0.350 Torr. The interior vacuum vessel is made of 304 stainless steel and contains aluminum removable shelving. The vacuum door has a large view port made of tempered glass with a vacuum seal made of silicon.

These vacuum ovens have good temperature stability and a temperature uniformity of +/- 3.2° C at 110° C and can reach its maximum operating temperature within 42 minutes. The vacuum and vent valves are located on the back side of the oven and have two ¼ inch (~8 mm) hose barbs for vacuum hose connections and a KF25 vacuum hose connector. The Shel Lab SVAC2 has a small footprint and requires 120 VAC at 50/60 Hz and 9 Amps.
