Ideal Vacuum Cube 12 x 12 inch Thermally Isolated TVAC Chamber Plate with Cooling Tubes for LN2 and Resistive Heating for Extreme Temperatures with Type-K Thermocouple.

This is a thermally isolated Ideal Vacuum Cube 12 x 12 inch TVAC plate for extreme temperatures. It has 1/2” OD stainless steel vacuum isolated fluid tubes with Swagelok® fittings for circulating hot or cold fluids, including LN₂. The plate also has embedded resistive heating elements for elevated temperatures. The heaters operate at 100-240 VAC and have heating power of 1050 W at 240 VAC, and 263 W at 120 VAC. The operating temperature range of this plate is 200°C to -200°C (392°F to -328°F). A Type-K thermocouple is mounted through a KF-16 port for logging temperature data or for a user supplied setpoint controller to use. The KF-40 port is used to connect the heating elements to an outboard controller, such as the Ideal Vacuum PID Plug & Play Heater Control System. This plate is uncoated and may be baked out to 150°C (the limit of the Viton O-ring). This plate is uncoated and may be baked out to 150°C (the limit of the Viton O-ring). This chamber plate is designed to occupy minimal volume within the Cube envelope and may be mounted in any orientation.

The temperature controlled area on the vacuum side of this chamber plate (the platen) is 10.275" x 10.275" and made of 304L stainless steel. The platen has a standard optical breadboard with ¼-20 tapped holes on a 1” grid for mounting objects and fixtures.

This Cube plate allows the Ideal Vacuum Cube to be used as a thermal vacuum or thermal shock vacuum chamber. It can also function as a chilled trap for chemical and high boiling point liquids. Multiple TVAC plates may be mounted to a Cube and plumbed together to enhance temperature control capability.

Fluid is commonly supplied by a circulating fluid chiller such as those made by Thermo Scientific, Neslab, and Huber, or from a user's bulk LN₂ tank. Insulated supply and return hoseswith 1/2" OD tube ends are used to connect the chilled fluid lines.

The Ideal Vacuum Cube^TM is a unique, modular, light weight, chamber system, capable of high vacuum to 1 x 10^-7 Torr. The Cube system is conceived to enable creativity and design flexibility in vacuum chamber system construction and limited only by your imagination.

The core of an Ideal Vacuum Cube modular chamber system is the Cube frame, machined from a single block of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and reinforced with stainless steel threaded inserts. Many basic frame configurations are available and multiple Cubes can be joined together to create a virtually unlimited variety of long or odd-shaped chamber shapes. The Cube’s light weight aluminum construction makes it easy to transport around the lab or mounted to an optical table.

Cube plates are mounted with screws to each side of the Cube frame and sealed using our patented Taper-Seal^TM design, which provides protection of vacuum sealing surfaces and O-rings from damage or contamination.

An extensive number of interchangeable Cube plates are available and one or more plates can be swapped easily when chamber reconfiguration is needed. Plates are available with single and multiple port KF, CF, and ISO flanged plates for connections and feedthroughs, viewing windows and doors, and a variety of specialty plates for thermal and optical experiments. Most plates are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum (unless otherwise indicated) and include an optical breadboard with 1/4-20 mounting threads spaced on a 1” x 1” standard grid on the plate’s vacuum side for fastening hardware and test objects. Plates may also have mounting threads on the exterior side for mounting accessories. Plates are typically machined from aluminum and receive a blue powder-coated outside finish which makes them both attractive and durable.

The modular nature of the Ideal Vacuum Cube allows the designer to configure a chamber to their unique requirements and reconfigure it at any time – all without the cost, weight, time, and limitations of an application-specific welded chamber.
