Very thin optics may require using longer set screws than those originally provided (0.375" length set screws are recommended to grip the thinnest of optics). These anodized aluminum optic mounts are equipped with a flat platform for mounting prisms, beamsplitter cubes, polarizers, diffraction gratings, or any other optic or object with a flat mounting surface. The platform has a depth of 1.0" and a width of 1.925" but can hold thicker optics if they are allowed to protrude. The platform can be removed and reattached to either leg of the optic mount using a 1/16" standard hex key (Allen wrench). The platform has ten 6-32 mounting holes along the perimeter which may be used to mount the optic directly or with Ideal Vacuum’s optional adjustable optic mounting arm S101085. The adjustable optic mounting arm holds the optic in place with a soft nylon tipped set screw which can be tightened with a 5/64" standard hex key. For permanent mounting, glue may be used instead. This anodized aluminum adjustable optic clamping arm on a 303 non-magnetic stainless steel post is used to hold optics up to 1-1/2" tall in place. Use it with ideal vacuums kinematic platform mount. S101084 The arm height and rotation may be adjusted by loosening the socket head cap screw clamping the arm to the post using a 3/32" standard hex key (Allen wrench). The adjustable optic mounting arm holds the optic in place with a soft nylon tipped set screw which can be tightened with a 5/64" standard hex key. Longer or shorter optical posts can be used to further customize. The 2" threaded post has a 6-32 thread that matches Ideal Vacuum’s kinemetic platform mounts. The post can be further tightened by inserting a 1/16" hex key or other suitably sized lever through the cross-drilled 0.1" diameter hole in the post.
