These Ideal Spectroscopy precision-machined 304 stainless steel standoffs are designed to provide a reliable and repeatable mounting solution for installing vacuum-rated optical breadboards inside vacuum chambers.
Each standoff features a tapped 1/4"-20 thread, allowing secure attachment of the optical breadboard using standard socket head cap screws (SHCS) through the breadboard mounting holes. The standoffs are intended to be temporarily positioned using our vented 1/4"-20 fasteners, enabling accurate alignment prior to final installation.
Installation Process
The recommended installation method ensures precise placement:
Attach standoffs to the optical breadboard using vented fasteners
Position the assembly insdie the vacuum chamber
Tack weld each standoff to the chamber wall in the desired location
Remove the breadboard
Complete the final TIG or laser weld around each standoff as required
This approach guarantees that all mounting points are correctly aligned with the breadboard.
