These solenoid assembly kits include solenoid, mounting bracket, air fittings, air line, air flow screws and manual override switch, requires 24V DC. This 18-523M solenoid is used for pneumatic gate valves sold on this website. Input air pressure of 80 psig is required. This Solenoid has unique exhaust port flow-control screws that independently control exhaust from NC (normally closed) and/or NO (normally open) ports and are integral to the valve body. No electrical power to the gate valve causes the gate valve to stay in the closed or locked position, reactivate electrical power and the gate valve opens. The solenoid also has a red manual override button on top of the solenoid. Push the red button shifts armature which actuates valves main stem. Release of manual force permits valve spring to return valve to normal position.

Installation Instructions:
The solenoid actuator is for use when a gate valve has a pneumatically controlled actuator. The solenoid is an electronic on/off switch connected directly to the bonnet of the gate valve via tapped holes on the bonnet. When no tapped holes are on the gate valve bonnet the solenoid must be mounted remotely. Connect air lines via the solenoid ports ID: 1 intake, 2 normally open, 3 exhaust, 4 normally closed. Connect electrical wiring (per schematic for solenoid below.) The solenoid will automatically be in the closed, locked position with no electrical power applied. When electrical power is applied to the solenoid the gate valve will open (all fittings and connections must be leak tight to ensure the solenoid will operate properly).
