This is a 110 VAC single-acting solenoid kit used on all small Ideal Vacuum Super-Seal pneumatic bellows valves, including 90 degree angle and in-line valves. The kit includes a 1/8" brass NPT nipple needed to attach the solenoid to the 1/8" female NPT air inlet of any small Super-Seal valve. Also included is a push-to-connect fitting with 1/8" NPT to 1/4" OD tubing for the airline connection, and a 1/8" NPT sintered brass exhaust muffler. This solenoid requires a 110 VAC power source capable of supplying a current of 70mA.
This single-acting solenoid kit is used on these small Super-Seal pneumatic bellows valves:
- KF-16, KF 25, KF-40, and KF 50
- CF 1.33", CF 2.12", CF 2.75", and CF 3.38"
- Weldable Tube 0.75", 1.0", 1.5", and 2.0" OD tube
Small Super-Seal valves use air to open and have an internal spring closure mechanism. Low volume, dry, compressed air in the range of 60-to-80 psi is needed to operate the valve. When energized, the solenoid directs air flow into the valve through the solenoid's manifold. When the solenoid is de-energized, air flow to the valve is cut off and the valve is closed automatically. Because small Super-Seal valves close automatically, they are useful as safety valves, providing failure protection to preserve chamber vacuum in case of loss of power or air supply.
The Super-Seal family of valves includes weldable tube, KF, ISO-K, and Conflat (CF) flange options, from 3/4" OD tube (KF-16), to 10" OD tube (ISO-K 250). Many are available in both right angle (90°) and in-line versions.
Available Super-Seal valve accessories sold separately include:
- 12 VDC, 24 VDC, 110 VAC, and 220 VAC Solenoids
- Mechanical reed switch, NPN, and PNP position indicator sensors, used to provide confirmation of the valve's state (whether it is open or closed) and to switch or trigger auxiliary devices.
Super-Seal valves are a great value and are extremely reliable, making them useful for applications such as semiconductor manufacturing, plasma physics research, and nuclear accelerators. They are a primary component in vacuum process automation and have a mean time to failure rate (MTTF) of more than one million cycles.
