VTI CLO Model, Open-Style Calibrated Leak with 1/4 in VCR Female Connections
CLO calibrated gas leaks contain a stainless steel capillary which provides flow rate restriction for a variety of gasses. Open style leaks do not contain a gas reservoir and require the use of an external gas source. While under pressure, gas moves through the stainless steel capillary into the system being tested at a precise rate, allowing accurate evaluation based on inlet and outlet pressures.
This CLO model leak is calibrated for Helium rated to 10-7 atm cc/sec.
Calibrated leak sources are widely used for verifying the proper operation of a variety of leak-testing systems, particularly those used in industrial manufacturing of many hermetically sealed mechanical or electronic components. For example, refrigerant compressors must be leak tested in accordance with strict protocols; a calibrated leak source provides a secondary standard against which to verify that the leak-testing technology used to measure the leakage from these compressors conforms to exacting standards. Other scenarios might including the verification of carbon monoxide detector testing, or any process in which a precisely known gas concentration must be injected into a process stream.
